In addition to the current disbursement, the governor announced plans to cater to the remaining students enrolled in county and extra-county schools once funds from the national government are disbursed.

Achani acknowledged that the county government was unable to disburse the entire bursary allocation due to delays in the release of funds from the national government.

However, she assured residents that efforts are underway to expedite the process and ensure that all eligible students benefit from the program.

“We are currently issuing bursaries to students who scored 350 marks and above and are in national schools. There is another group of students we are also working to support, and we are committed to resolving this issue as soon as the funds are released,” she said.

Achani reiterated the county’s dedication to ensuring no deserving student is left out, emphasizing the importance of education in transforming lives and empowering communities.

The governor expressed pride in the success of the county’s bursary program, noting its huge impact on improving the lives of many students since its inception.

She said the bursary program has transformed countless lives, enabling students to achieve their educational goals and pursue meaningful careers.

Achani said the bursary initiative has produced numerous graduates, many of whom are now employed in various professional fields both within and outside the county.

The county boss called on the beneficiaries to remain focused on their studies and make the most of the opportunity provided.

Achani said leaders and the county government have prioritized improving the lives of residents through access to quality education hence students must do their best to excel.

Achani issued a stern warning to students benefiting from the bursary program, urging them to work hard.

She said that the program is meant to support deserving and diligent students who are committed to their education.

Achani said those who fail to put in effort and work hard will be removed from the bursary program and replaced with other needy students who are eager to excel.

She said the beneficiaries must take their studies seriously to justify the investment made in their education.

Governor Fatuma Achani also urged parents to take their parental responsibilities seriously, emphasizing the crucial role they play in shaping their children’s future.

She encouraged parents to focus on molding their children from an early age by instilling discipline and strong moral values.

Achani also noted that parents must monitor their children’s behavior and be mindful of the company they keep.

“Parents should stay vigilant and guide their children by keeping a close eye on their conduct and the people they interact with,” she advised.

She stressed that a collaborative effort between parents, teachers, and the government is essential to raising responsible, well-rounded individuals.

Matuga MP Kassim Tandaza praised the bursary program, noting its significant role in transforming the lives of communities in Kwale County.

“The program has been instrumental in changing lives and uplifting communities by ensuring access to education for deserving students,” Tandaza said.

He encouraged students to prioritize their education, adding that it is the key to success and a brighter future.

“The path to success lies in quality education, and you must seize this opportunity to better your lives,” he said.
