Kwale County government has received 8,000 new chairs and goalposts for the Kwale Stadium from the Ministry of Youth Affairs, Creative Economy, and Sports.

The consignment was delivered to Governor Fatuma Achani by the Sports Kenya Director General Gabriel Komora at the Stadium in Kinarini.

The stadium, which was launched during last year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations, has a capacity of 13,000 seats.

Achani lauded William Ruto’s government for the support it has given to the people of Kwale in making sure the Kwale Stadium reaches national and appealing standards.

“I am grateful to President William Ruto for directing sustainable development projects to our county especially the support of 8,000 seats and modern goal posts aimed at uplifting the standard of our lucrative state-of-the-art stadium aimed at nurturing and tapping talents at the developing stage,” she said

Achani also commended cabinet secretary in charge of the ministry Salim Mvurya saying he made sure that the stadium is equipped with seats so that people can enjoy watching football matches.

Komora said that the 8,000 seats and modern goalposts are just a few of the more support the Ministry will direct to Kwale to make sure talent is nurtured.

“I am here to represent the Cabinet Secretary for Sports Salim Mvurya who has sent me to deliver the seats to this state-of-the-earth stadium in Kwale. The main objective is uplifting the face of the stadium to reach national standards where national league matches can be hosted here,” said Komora.
